INTERNATIONAL MULTIHULL BOAT SHOW
La Grande Motte – Here is an overview of the 2017 edition of the Multihull Boat Show; another successful catamaran and trimaran show in “The Great Swamp” of the French Provence.
Even if the first day or two a strong wind messed with exhibitors, the weekend was a delight for everybody. The exhibitors were overwhelmed by the gathered international public and the crowds attacking the new catamaran models were enjoying the relentless April sun. All together – any boat organizer can only dream of such an outcome.
From the charter-industry-viewpoint, there were some premieres, some innovations and maybe a glimpse of what’s to come in the multihull world.
Bali Catamarans by Catana presented the three models Bali 4.0, Bali 4.3 and Bali 4.5. Nothing especially new was seen at the Bali exhibit but that isn’t really a problem – Bali is new and different all by itself!
Nautitech exhibited the Open 40 and the 542.
Fountain–Pajot has presented four cats and two new models; the Power 44 and the New Saona 47. The Fountain-Pajot exhibit might just have been the most popular part of the show. The Saona 47 seems to be a beautiful and well thought-through yacht with a lot of innovative features for the catamaran aficionado.
Lagoon, with a dominating presence as usual, featured their current models in the range 40-62ft. The crowds on the floating docks were impressive; the international dealers had their hands full for most of the time.
Neel Trimarans have presented the Neel 51 – the first model that might capture the imagination of the charter world; with competitive pricing and attractive charter layout it just might start a new trend in our industry.
With plenty of yachts and a colorful exhibit of various other suppliers like innovative propulsion, sails and rigging, electronics and water toys, the Multihull Boat Show was a delight for visitors and exhibitors. We are looking forward to the next edition.
